New West Guitar Quartet at Jimmy Mak’s - September 1st

August 27th, 2007

New West Guitar QuartetOn Saturday, September 1st, the New West Guitar Quartet will stop at Jimmy Mak’s as part of their Summer 2007 tour. The NWGQ comes through town every year or so, which is always something of a homecoming native-Oregonian John Storie, one of the members of the award-winning quartet.

The group is made up of just four guitars - no bass, drums, or piano like a typical jazz group. This always leads to interesting writing and interaction in their performances. They will play two sets on September 1st at 8 and 10 PM.

Pardew and Stowell met ten years ago as Pardew would attend Stowell’s performances around the Northwest and studied jazz guitar with Stowell. They continue to play together and perform.
