Club News - Cancellation, Closures

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

Jax will no longer be having their weekly Wednesday-night jam sessions and Thursday-night “PDX Jazz Singer Showcase” shows. Music will still be at the club on Fridays and Saturdays.

According to an e-mail from Darrell Grant, a new company has taken ownership of LV’s Uptown. For now, they are focusing on renovation and will not be hosting the music series, but there is a possibility that music will return once the new restaurant (Rafati’s) gets up and running - apparently they’ve kept the stage.

Portland’s music scene has been rather cyclical in the past with closures eventually leading to openings - let’s hope that happens again.
