This week, the International Association of Jazz Educators declared bankruptcy. One of the many unfortunate results of this is the cancellation of the 2009 IAJE conference, which was to be held in Seattle. The details can be found in an extensive letter at the IAJE website.

April 19th, 2008Writer Lynn Darroch had a nice piece in Friday’s Oregonian about pianist Dave Brubeck and the band Oregon, who will both be performing in Portland (in different venues of course this Thursday). You can find the article here.
Dave Brubeck will be playing at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Oregon will be performing at the Aladdin.
