Sad news from Matt Weiers at the Hollywood Music Center.  The piano store is closing (the decision of Seattle-based management), meaning the end of their wonderful Friday jazz series.  The good news is, you can hear Nancy King and Steve Christofferson play the last concert at the store, this Friday (May 30th).

The concert starts at 8 PM and there is a $10 cover charge.

Also, remember that Nancy King has a regular Wednesday-night gig at The Cave, where she invites different musicians to play with her each week.

This Thursday, the Hollywood Music Center concert series presents the Shelly Rudolph band featuring John Nastos, Clay Giberson, Tim Gilson, and Russ Kleiner.  They will play a variety of material, including John Nastos’s arrangements of standards.  You can find sound and video clips of their last performance at blog.johnnastos.com

This Friday (3/21), Tim Willcox will perform with his quartet at the Hollywood Music Center. The quartet (Willcox - Saxophone , Toby Koenigsberg - piano , Bill Athens - Bass , Randy Rollofson - Drums) will be releasing their new CD “Sound Architecture.”

The Hollywood Music Center is located at 4200 NE Sandy. There is an $8 cover, which includes food and drink. The show starts at 8 PM.
