Portland jazz/soul/r+b saxophonist Patrick Lamb is on tour once again with Bobby Caldwell. This time, the band is in Japan, where Caldwell’s music seems especially popular.

Portland-based saxophonist Patrick Lamb has launched his own ticket company, Tickets Oregon. The company’s goal is to provide tickets for Oregon events while keeping fees reasonable, unlike larger companies like Ticketmaster. They’ve already made partnerships with some great venues, including Jimmy Mak’s, Skamania Lodge, and especially the 2008 Waterfront Blues Festival.

Patrick Lamb recently brought his Ray Charles Tribute project to New Orleans, where they played a sold out show in front of such luminaries as Ray Charles Jr.

This Friday at Jimmy Mak’s, renowned fusion pianist Jeff Lorber will play two sets with Marlon McClain, Patrick Lamb, Damian Erskine, and Reinhardt Melz. The first set is already sold-out, but you can still call and make reservations for the second set ($20 at 10 PM).
